My Canon Island Photo Submission 1 of 5: Urban Island

urban islandA couple weeks ago, I mentioned that I had been selected as one of five bloggers competing for a chance to visit Canon Island in March, courtesy of Canon Australia. In order to make it there, I have to participate in a photo contest, and guess what…

…the first photo is live!

Theme 1: Urban Island

I was able to interpret this theme any way I please, and when I actually headed out to the streets to find the shot, I was left with a lot of… disappointment? I discovered that finding a photo according to a certain theme is not easy at all!

Still, I had some ideas, and I went out and took a few shots here and there before agonizing on whether or not the photo would be good enough to trump the competition.

So, which photo did I choose? Oh, well, I could have chosen from the following:

One photo in particular really stuck out to me during the entire journey, so that’s the one I went with in the end.
