Day 110: A Chance to Get Caught Up with the Best of the Daily Posts Thus Far

Day 110: Chillin' and gettin' caught up.

Day 110: Chillin' and gettin' caught up.

I’m going to ask you a question, and I want you to be honest. Seriously, have you been keeping up with the daily posts? I mean, there’s only like 109 individual posts that have been made (not including this one) up until this point in 2011. That’s not that many.

Uhm… yes it is. There are a lot of freaking good (*toot toot* my horn), and some not so good, posts and ideas that have been brought up this year, but if you don’t troll through quite often, well… you just might miss ‘em. Someone (somewhere online) wrote to me and said that they haven’t really commented yet because they always feel like there is so much going on.

No problem! Now is the time to catch up.

I’m hand-picking some of the more interesting posts from the past few months and linking them below. Have a read if you have the time and get to know my [sometimes very boring, work-filled] world:

Day 106: Oh, NO, Not Another Contest
If you haven’t voted for me yet in the People’s Choice for Best Australian Blogs 2011, then get on it *please*. It takes but a minute to tick “Brooke vs. the World” on the first page, and it gives me a chance to win $1000 in writing courses here in Sydney.

Day 102: We’re All Passionate People When It Comes to Travel Health Care
It’s interesting to hear about the people who adamantly recommend going without overseas health coverage when that is probably a place where health coverage could be most beneficial. At home, you may not need to be air ambulanced to a place where they can administer proper treatment, but abroad…

Day 92: Straight Out of a Horror Film
This post recounts one of my least favorite parts of living in Australia. It’s a creepy one, so beware!

Day 88: The Cottesloe Beach Sunset in Photos
Experience a brilliant sunset with me through this photo essay taken while over on the western coast of Australia.

Day 84: Epic Train Journeys, Not For Everyone
I rode a train for 3 days from Sydney to Perth and was surprised to find someone that was hating the adventure of it all. Don’t be that guy, so read these tips and prepare yourself.

Day 76: Have Green Shirt, Will Travel
This post was an ode to some of the shirts that have traveled the world with me. It also shows my thrifty resourcefulness in the way that I rarely spend money on clothes (even though the urge does sometimes come over me).

Day 57: When Sexy Vampires Make You Coffee (A Verona Memory)
This posts recounts the story of a vampire baristo I met in Verona, Italy during my study abroad trip back in 2004. What a freak, but kind of a sweet one ;)

Day 53: Tours for Under 35′s
This post struck home with a few people who feel that tours that are made just for those under 35 are lame. It also discusses the reason behind the tag line as well as what happens when the tag line just means party time. What do you think?

Day 44: Across Languages… Does that sound right?
This post was really humorous because of the great comments people left. Have you come across words in one language that mean something bad in another? Add to the list!

Day 36: What Countries Are On Your No-Go List?
Do you have a list of places you just don’t want to visit? Or, are you like some people and would head off to just about anywhere given the current violence level isn’t set to war? Great feedback from a lot of travelers here.

Day 16: Finding a Place in the World (an ode to my favorite hangouts)
We all have places to make destinations extra special, sort of making them seem like a home away from home. This post talks about mine… what are yours?

Day 7: Technology Kills the Travel Experience
Does it? How far do you let technology take you before it takes over you? This is a very debatable issue since flashpacking is tending to be the norm.

Thank you, for reading and following. It means a lot to me!

Yep, I came across your blog in October and have been following your posts ever since. I don’t comment much but I enjoy reading what you write. Keep up the good work! I know I couldn’t write a post every day.

I am off to sunny (cough) Ukraine again in a weeks time, I have been told that the snow has melted and spring has arrived with green leaves and colourful flowers appearing everywhere, I have only ever been there in winter when it’s as grey as grey gets so I am looking forward to my visit this springtime.

Thanks, Daniel ;) Good luck in Ukraine… at least you’re getting there in the spring!
