Christmas Comes Twice This Year

I got a knock on the door today that resulted in a man saying, “Here,” as he pushed a package in my hands and then turned to run up the stairs. That doesn’t sound like quality postman material there, and it actually seems a bit on the fishy side. However, I saw that the package was addressed from my mom in the USA, so I ran into the living room in a little bit of a giddy frenzy to see what was inside.

Christmas has come again! It’s December 29th in Aussieland, and both Pat and I got presents to open from my family back home. Yay!

I put on a sweatshirt and sat next to the (mini) Christmas tree (almost like being back in the States) as I unwrapped them. It went a little something like this:

My mom did a good job at getting me summery type clothes (did you have to buy those months ago?). Last year she sent me some winter tops, which I had to wait a long time before I could sport them in Australia! :) Also, I’m not too keen on the Chicago Bears shirt for Pat, but I’m guessing Bill had some input on that.

Thanks for the awesome pressies Mom, Bill & Sobachka!

every year we have 2 Christmas here in Russia, January and December…. Most people celebrate on January 7th and less people celebrate in 25th December.

Too cute that she looked for summer clothes for you while we’re all freezing up here!

I know, so cute :) The shirts as well… when I opened them Pat was just like, “Oh, she knows you,” because they all looked like something I would buy myself. Hehe, my mom is good at shopping for me :)
