Finding time to write and post while out on the road is really difficult. Even with Internet in the hotel, I still find it a chore. When I am in the room, I may not be in a state where I can focus or just have enough time to sit down. I apologize for the quality of posts that are probably going to be coming through over the next couple of weeks.
Today, I’d like to just share a photo post with you of some of the temple action we’ve been seeing around town. There are Buddhist temples with monks, Indian temples and just giant Chinese mansion houses scattered across Penang, and they are quite the sight. Here are some of the photos from our tour; the last photo is of a couple of snakes found in the Snake Temple. Yes, there are vipers and pythons just chilling out inside!

Penang is an awesome place that (I’m ashamed to say) I just found out about. Visited myself just a few weeks ago on the way to KL. Great vibe, nice architecture, and incredible food.
Love the architecture here — very cool place indeed!
Oh man, those skies are beautiful. I wonder how they keep the snakes hanging around and stop them wandering off?
I think they keep them fed. There are eggs sitting at the altar area for them.
i think we all understand how demanding traveling can be plus trying to give readers an entertaining post when all you really want to do is either sleep or be out experiencing the things you are writing about. Thanks for the photos.
Cheers!
Great photos Brooke, nice work. I’m curious if you’ve seen any giant spiders to top Sydney’s finest?
Have not seen any big ones yet. You’re freaking me out
