Day 48: Epic Train Journeys Rock So Let’s Build One Together

Day 48: Dreaming Up Awesome Adventures

Day 48: Dreaming Up Awesome Adventures

We all know that the amazing Vodkatrain made me beyond excited, as read in my post, and it turns out it made a few of you excited as well. Go you! You obviously have awesome taste for adventure and travel, so I was thinking…

I was thinking that maybe we could all team up and put together a totally awesome, mind-blowing trip TOGETHER!

Let’s face it — I need to have travels looming in the future for me to be happy, so that kills that problem. I also want to do the Trans-Siberian railway journey, or some combination or portion of that journey, and doing it with other travelers can make that experience so much more exciting… right?

I’m not the only one that loves epic train journeys. On the same day I published my blog post about the wonders of Vodkatrain, Mr. Hodson of Go, See, Write released his Ultimate Train Challenge site and plan to the world. It’s quite the ambitious plan, maybe not so much enjoyable, but it is definitely a world record attempt in taking a train from Lisbon to Saigon in 30 days. And, while I’m still a bit cut that I wasn’t one of the travelers “invited” for the adventure, I got to thinking that 30 days straight on a train would probably not be the holiday I’d want to take, which is why I’m writing this.

I want to plan a group trip, but not a normal, run-of-the-mill trip to Europe — one to Russia… riding the rails… perhaps through Mongolia and further on to China. What a ride.

It could be late this year, or early next. It all depends on what we can agree on through further discussion.

Would you like to come with me? If so, I’ve put together a Facebook group where we can chat and mull over possibilities and maybe… just maybe… come to a decision for a thrilling future trip.

What say you? Head on over to my new Facebook group and let’s have a chat!

I’m already off on my own epic journey from England to Australia (by trains mostly to Singapore, then boat to Perth, then the train to Sydney) from May to December… I’m leaving in May though so probably a bit early for you!

I know Michael would have asked you if he thought you could have fit it in your plans. Come join me as there are far too many guys and not enough girls.

Oh sister, I’ve thought about your plan after hearing about it, and I think it is far too much time on a train for me :) I only joke about being cut not asked. It looks like I’m getting heaps of interest for this group trip though!

If you need help planning the Trans-Siberian and working on the whole visa thing, let me know. I’ve done it before and can provide practical hints.
