I know; you’re tired of this 7 links business, right? It’s only been going on over a couple of weeks now and the blogs have multiplied like rabbits having babies. Well, surprise, here’s another baby! It’s my turn, so do humor me while I divulge the essential Brooke vs. the World.
My most beautiful post: The Cottesloe Beach Sunset in Photos
It’s not a post that beautifully written; it just looks pretty. I found myself crossing the country by train (Sydney to Perth) earlier this year, and that resulted in me at the beach for this awesome sunset.
My most popular post: Chest X-ray, Anyone?
This post is not popular by standard means (most comments or stumbles, etc.). However, it definitely gets the most searches and hits coming in from Google each month. I don’t think this post is exactly what the searchers are looking for, but it does tell a quite humorous story of the day I got a chest x-ray in Ukraine before coming to Australia. Feel that Ukrainian compassion.
My most controversial post: Sh!t About Travel that Scares the Sh!t Out of Me
More than anything, this post touches on a controversial topic of health coverage and vaccinations for traveling. I don’t think that the responses were too overwhelming, but there were a few people that felt the complete opposite of me… which I later elaborated on here.
My most helpful post: International Relationships: Does someone always lose?
You can tell this post was helpful by looking at the comments. It may not be a how-to, step-by-step guide, but it does give a lot of people a story to relate to when dealing with very similar circumstances. I’d say that’s helpful, wouldn’t you?
A post whose success surprised me: What Countries Are On Your No-Go List?
This post in particular was one of the shortest I’ve ever written and yet, it’s on the list of most commented. Just goes to show that it’s not the length that matters; it’s how your readers react or relate to it.
A post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved: I Challenge You: Do Something You’ve Always Wanted
There were a fair few comments on this post, but really… I CHOPPED OFF MY HAIR, put it in a video and posted it to the world… it could have gotten a little more. Besides that, I really like the message involved in the story to stop talking and start doing, especially doing that which is not in our normal routine.
The post I am most proud of: A Confession… Why I Can’t Scuba Dive
Depression and anxiety have had negative impacts on many areas of my life, including the area that involves travel. This post talks about my battle with the beasts that left me wounded but not defeated!
So now it’s my turn to nominate other bloggers for the job of sharing their 7 links. Before I do that, I’d like to give a quick shout to Erik of On My Feet or In My Mind for nominating me after soooooo many of you other bloggers didn’t (shame on you).
