There’s a place in Australia where magic happens. It’s called Canon Island, and I — unbelievably — have a chance to get there in March!

fly over to dessert island
I know, crazy, right?! It’s like all those silly contests you take part in before… ya know… the vote for me type of contests that you beg and beg for votes for… well.. you don’t really have a GREAT chance.
But for Canon Island, I do! A 1 in 5 chance, actually, and now there’s more.
For any round I win from rounds 3 to 5, I also get a Canon IXUS 115 to give away to one of my readers!
This is, of course, added to your chance of winning a Canon SX40 HS (the same camera used to take my photos in the contest) just for voting on the Canon Island Facebook app.
Round 3 Theme: Dessert Island
You read that right: dessert. Like sweet. Like candy. Like cupcakes and sugar. I wanted to make the ultimate candy paradise, and then get up-close shots of ants playing on the fun land. It didn’t work out (you can read about it here).
Instead, I got this shot, taken on the Toy Camera setting. To me, it looks cool and interesting, and if you think so, too, then I could use your vote!
I need your help!
After round 1, I was in shock as I had the winning photo! Round 2, however, was the exact opposite, with my photo coming in dead last. That means I’m tied for 3rd/4th right now, which is not getting me to Canon Island.
Please, help me out. Take a minute to vote and then share this post! It would be so awesome if I not only got to go to Canon Island but I also got some fun camera gear to give away on this site… perhaps to YOU!
Thanks for reading, and hopefully I’ll have better news after this round is over!

You’ve got my vote!
I actually like the fly rather than the ants.
Aw thanks!
You rock!
Liking the photos!!!
Thank you!

Voted and shared on fb (voted last round too though.!)
Also wanted to say that I really enjoy the FTU newsletter and everything on your blog – in planning my next trip I’m giving it a go to use multi-stop flights like your trip back home instead of leaving everything in the hands of a travel agent. Whooo here’s to some savings.
I know it’s Tuesday, but my Thrify Thursday tip is from my last trip: I found a Kumuka overland trip for 50% off the AU price listed on their websites through a combination of paying in US dollars and a US company having a 35% off sale (trip was originally ~7300 and I paid around ~3600 – made everything affordable.!) – pays to shop around
