Australia has so many kebab shops it isn’t even funny. I would throw the kebab into the Australian version of fast food, along with meat pies and sausage rolls, and it makes for a possible late-night food option after drinking. To be honest, I was surprised to see how popular kebabs were when arriving down under, but really… kebabs have become an iconic part of my travels all over the world.
Kebabs make me think of Europe. Over there, they are cheap and so freaking good, and the best place I’ve had them to date would be in …
I wouldn’t consider myself an expert, but being a budget traveler I have found myself in the presence of many a kebab. The tastiest kebab ever was found in Verona, Italy when I studied abroad. They were cheap, open late, and spicyyyyyyy. All the kids on my study abroad trip ranted and raved about the place (I couldn’t tell you the name if you were waving a million dollars in my face), and that one shop has set the tone for all kebab tastings around the world.
Granted, I haven’t been to Turkey… yet. C’mon October!
Kebabs make me think of Europe and specifically of Italy, but really…
Kebabs just make me think of travel!
