Let’s Celebrate the Holidays – Win a $200 Travel Voucher

Happy Turkey Day!

It’s officially Thanksgiving (by Australian clocks), and I’m here eating a turkey lunchmeat sandwich and pretending it’s the bird with all the trimmings. Ok, it’s definitely not that bad! My boyfriend and I are going to cook up a mean dinner for the evening and eat until we can’t eat any more (and give thanks of course!).

There’s no doubt that getting into the season is a bit difficult for me in Australia; when you’re sweating and hitting the beach on a regular basis, you don’t really believe that it’s only a month until Christmas. Rough life, I know.

presentsLuckily, I’ve got a great way for us to really get into the spirit: a little gift-giving action for one of my lucky readers! That’s right! I’ve got one $200 travel voucher, courtesy of HotelClub.com, to give away – maybe to you!

You can use this voucher to book a little hotel action at any of the 69,000 hotels advertised on their website, located in 138 countries around the world. So, whether you’re booking a last minute getaway, or booking well in advance, this $200 accommodation voucher is going to help you get there cheaper.

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me where in the world you would use this voucher. It’s as simple as that! Oh, and if you want brownie points with me, you can subscribe to my RSS feed (but that’s not necessary to enter).

You can only enter once, and you have until 11:59pm (Eastern Standard Time, US) on December 5, 2010 to do it. The winner will be chosen using Random.org, and then announced on December 6th.

I’m so excited to be able to offer this giveaway on my website, and just in time for the fast-approaching festivities. It’s already beginning to feel a bit more like Christmas!

This would be an awesome gift to kick off my trip to Japan, which I just so happen to arrive Dec. 6th. hint hint wink wink. I’ll be staying in Kanagawa outside of Tokyo but getting to spend a night or two in Tokyo would be great. Or maybe on our trip to Kyoto or Osaka I could use it to share with my friends who offered their place in Kanagawa so we can all enjoy a nice hotel while visiting Kyoto’s temples thanks to you Brooke @(^_^)@

    Happy holidays Brooke!

I would use this voucher to explore some of the hotels in my hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Headed to Peru next summer…or a quick weekend in SF sooner…or a good excuse to head back to Vancouver, my new favorite city in N. America…the list goes forever!

I know how you feel Brooke! I was cooking a massive Thanksgiving feast last year in the heavy Sydney heat – quite a different experience, but so fun to share with my aussie mates! Hope you had a good one!

Hmmm I would probably use this in Vancouver next year for TBEX11! It will be my birthday weekend. What a perfect present! :)

I’ll be heading to Las Vegas for my brother’s wedding this summer and would love to stay at a hotel there without my parents!

If I win, I will get a swanky hotel to take an escort there to try and impress her. THEN, she will think that I am rich AND I am super nice. So she will decide (after making passionate love for hours) that she wants out of the turnin’ tricks game and wants to settle down with me. After she decides that, we will get married and she will decide she wants to go to culinary school. She will become a famous chef, but then quit to have our children. We will have 3 beautiful children who grow up to be a doctor, a scientist and a Subway sandwich artists (hey, they all cant be winners). All of this would have happened because Brooke did this awesome give-a-way! Thank you Brooke!

I would use it toward a few nights in New York before I head off on my next big trip :-)

I’m feeling pretty stressed with school exams and research papers due in the next few weeks, plus working close to full-time hours. I’d like to take a break over Christmas, or possibly reading week (which is at the end of February) and go to New Orleans. The city fascinates me, I’d love to go there and explore the culture, music, food, sights. Either that or I’d use it for TBEX in June.

Hi there Brooke! I am planning to go to backpacking around Europe in the summer – a few days in a hotel would be the cats meow! Thanks, carl

    Brooke! You rock!

  16. Alex Uher December 4, 2010 at 12:02 am #

Would be a great way to help with some upcoming Christmas expenses visiting the family and friends coast to coast!

  17. Ross December 4, 2010 at 12:35 am #

I would use it to visit the Sedlec Ossuary, in the Czech Republic. I’m going to Austria for Christmas, and I could take the train up there. It’s a church built out of the bones of 40,000 people who died during the plague!

gosh, so many options… i suppose, since it is christmas, i would actually give the voucher to my parents… they’re old, you realize, and they have never really travelled… and my mother has always dreamed about the bahamas… always – (actually, i think she just dreams about warm places and the bahamas is the only name she can think of, because it sounds so exotic)… so, i would give the voucher to her, and then work out some way to actually get her there… (right now, i’m thinking a little hamster ball on top of a whale spout…. that would be fun… for me)…

  19. Kristina December 4, 2010 at 4:52 am #

Not joking, but I have NEVER been on a plane before. So I would use my voucher to visit New York City. Not only would I love to visit the NYC, but I’d have my first plane ride!! :)

I’d use the hotel voucher in the summer at the Greek Isles. I’ve never been but it looks gorgeous!

  21. Chris Noble December 5, 2010 at 10:06 am #

I would give it to me long suffering wife to have a night away from the screaming kids and remember what it was to be a traveller!

  22. Sam December 5, 2010 at 1:59 pm #

I would use it to go check out Venice in March!

  23. Jenneil December 6, 2010 at 2:43 pm #

I would use the voucher to stay in a nice place in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, MX.

We have been to San Cristobal twice before on an extreme budget and have been forced to stay in small, cheap posadas. We are heading back to Chiapas in February on our 6 month rtw and it would be nice to stay in a nice place for a change.

I saw a few hotels on hotelclub.com that we have seen in person, but never could afford.
