I’ve decided I should get a part-time job to supplement my trip funds. I have done a lot of researching, guestimating and dreaming in the past couple of weeks and I want to have the trip of a lifetime. Plus, the time I spend working takes away from time I might end up spending my trip away. So, I’ve lined up a few places to apply and plan on doing so in the next few weeks during my move process. Who knows, maybe I’ll be bringing you your dinner some evening.
Ok, so you might be asking, why would you wait tables?! Why not just work overtime at your current job?
I answer: I just can’t spend more than 44 working hours a week doing my support job. I will go insane.
Logically, it makes sense. If I bring in an extra $200/week, that gets my car and student loan paid off in less than a year, leaving another year of pure SAVINGS. Hmm… yes, that would be an extra $9600 for the trip from this job, and I’ve seen what people can do with that much money going RTW.
Yeah, I might be feeling good with myself right now.
