I also read the book with intention to review but the opening read so chronologically and journal-like that I had to keep putting it down. Drugs, hostel sex, sad goodbyes, it all seemed typical backpacker first-time-on-the-road stuff. I agree with you 100% that the redeeming factor is the honesty. Cheers!
