All aboard!
The goal of The Monthly Express will be to get you from one month to the next in one quick and easy blog post. I’ll wrap up the best of the month, as well as give a rundown on upcoming news. Here goes!

All aboard!
1st Stop: July Blogging
Oh, July. We spent the first couple of weeks in Kyrgyzstan again before finally flying back to Sydney. Yes, the end of the trip is here, and we’re struggling to get over the post travel blues and figure out what’s next.
I think the big post of the month was definitely the one where I recounted the conversation I had with a Kyrgyz man about bride kidnapping. Tough to take in, but true story.
After that, the hot read would be all about the Soul Kitchen Jr hostel I stayed in back in St. Petersburg. Have a read of the post and let me know if you agree it might be the best hostel in the world.
Besides these two mind-blowing posts, I would highly recommend reading about the time 3 Russian ladies cooked us borscht, or just about the atypical route we took on the Trans-Mongolian railway.
And for a little dose of reality, I delve into a post on my travel style and how factors like work play a big part.
2nd Stop: Weekend Snaps
I’m in love with the pinhole setting on my camera, and I feel this old Turkish cart was the perfect subject.

3rd Stop: Favorite Comments
In response to my borscht soup post:
Oh my god random – we were just having a conversation at lunch about Borscht Soup and wondering what was in it. Came back to my desk and this was the first thing I saw on Facebook! Thanks for the recipe – have sent the link to everyone. Yum.
