Business cards — who needs ’em?!

Well, maybe you! I don’t think I know anyone that couldn’t benefit from having a set of their own business cards, even if it is just a way to drop an email address or link to a Facebook page. You could take the word “business” out of them completely, in fact.

And guess what, people! I have a little contest for you where you can win a set of your very own business cards, courtesy of Uprinting.com!

YAY!

All you have to do is have a little fun.

We all agonise over putting the proper job title on our business cards, and usually it is to describe a job that we might not be super passionate about but provides a paycheck… am I right? Well, now you get to give yourself the title you have always dreamed of!

Tell me, in the comments, what you would love to be paid money for (your dream job), and then provide the best, most unique, or just the most perfect job title for that job.

So, whether you want to be paid to be a brain surgeon, or just to pet puppies all day, tell me what you want your job title to read by dropping me a quick comment. That’s it! I’ll then choose my favorite response and award the winner a 250 piece set of die cute business cards from UPrinting.com.

*You do NOT have to put this job title on your actual business cards!

This contest will run until 11:59 pm US EST on June 27, 2012. You must be a US Resident to enter.

Well, my dream job right now is professional blogger. I’m working toward that and am getting excited about it. When the time comes for me to ditch my day job and blog fulltime I want my title to be “Mr. I. Didit.” Or as my neighbors would call me, “The pasty white guy that never goes anywhere.”

    • Brooke June 26, 2012 at 3:21 am #

Haha, awesome Ryan! And yes, if you were a full-time blogger, you’d probably be at home… a lot… because I know! πŸ˜‰

    Dream Planner

I want to be a travel planner that does all the detail work behind a persons dream travel experience. All the airline tickets, bus rides, boats, ferries, routes to take, sights to see, budgeting it all. I will be their Dream Planner! πŸ˜€

    • Brooke June 26, 2012 at 3:23 am #

Oooh I love this πŸ™‚ So necessary because some people just need the extra help to make their dreams a reality.

  3. Kevin Post June 18, 2012 at 1:45 am #

Awesome! I’m super stoked at the possibility of winning this! My dream job is to be a multilingual (English, Spanish, Turkish, Kurdish, Persian) mountain rescue/rock-climbing guide and certified Wilderness EMT.

    Thanks Brooke!

    • Brooke June 26, 2012 at 3:24 am #

Hey Kevin – this is quite the specific dream job! Wow! Can you speak any of those languages now?

  4. Eleanor Meloul June 18, 2012 at 4:25 pm #

I would love to be able to live off of making cake balls for people. I want to start my own business but the perfect job title for my perfect dream job would be a “Cake Baller” did you see what i did with that?? haha

    • Brooke June 26, 2012 at 3:24 am #

Oh Eleanor, yours is definitely of intrigue! Are cake balls a real thing?

  5. Rebecca June 18, 2012 at 7:38 pm #

Haha, love to be CPP (Chief-Puppy-Petter) but I think this week my current dream job would be Head of Scheduling for my own TV Network which would be DownunderTV. Seriously, why aren’t more Australian/New Zealand/South African programs on the screen in the US? We have enough cable channels to support them, why should Americans get all the credit? Another one of my pet-annoyances, especially after spending so much time in Aus/NZ! So much “great” tv there!

    • Brooke June 26, 2012 at 3:25 am #

That could work! Great idea πŸ™‚

  6. Jeremy June 19, 2012 at 11:56 pm #

Mine would simply say my name on the first line and my blogs name on the second line:

    Jeremy Jones
    Living the Dream

Of course, this would be on a classy white print, high end paper, and only have the hyperlink to my blog on the backside.

When you are living the dream, you don’t need a job title.

  7. Rachel June 21, 2012 at 12:29 am #

    Dream job title: Professional Adventurer.

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:16 am #

Oooh, yeah, that’s a good one πŸ™‚ Would you be the type of person that climbs mountains and walks around the world?

      • Rachel July 4, 2012 at 3:18 am #

Yes, though I’d prefer to ride a horse around the world to walking πŸ™‚

  8. Candice June 21, 2012 at 11:55 am #

Awww, wish I could win! My job title already IS Professional Experience Collector, haha.

  9. Tony June 22, 2012 at 1:35 pm #

I always feel like Patrick Bateman when designing business cards… and I love it!

Gotta say my favorite so far is Cake Baller… genius!

I love being tickled, so my dream job would be “Head of Test Tickles” at a feather company.

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:13 am #

      Tony, you are ridiculous πŸ˜‰

  10. Meg June 22, 2012 at 1:51 pm #

Annnnd Tony is ridiculous. haha You could probably already guess what my dream job involves – Food!

I would love to be the person to go to new restaurants around the globe (or ones that offer seasonal menus) and be a menu consultant… taste all their future menu items and provide the chef with feedback before they roll out the menu to the clients.

As far as job title, let’s just call myself a Foodgasm Finder.

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:15 am #

Haha, yes your husband is ridiculous πŸ˜‰ I’m pretty sure this could be a job, actually… or maybe that’s what could happen to a really good food blogger.

  11. Tim Van Autreve June 22, 2012 at 3:16 pm #

I’d say my dream job would be not working, sitting by the pool, and living a Snoop Dogg Lifestyle. Minus all the drugs and hoes.

    Professional Lotto Winner Extraordinaire

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:18 am #

If you figure out a way to make that work, please let me know πŸ™‚

  12. April D. Thompson June 26, 2012 at 10:57 am #

I would love to earn a healthy 6+ figure salary as Chief Ideation Officer and VP of Connections. My top strength from Clifton’s Strengths Finder test is ideation, which correctly identifies my passion for coming up with new ideas, looking for connections, brain storming, creative problems solve. As a result I’d also love to be VP of Connections. I seem to have a knack for connecting people with other people, resources and information to help them progress in their personal and professional endeavors.

This of course would have to be location independent and have a large percentage of clientele in the travel and tourism industry.

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:17 am #

Wow, April – that’s super specific and well thought out! Good luck πŸ™‚

  13. Heather June 26, 2012 at 11:14 am #

Taking a cue from my Pinterest profile, I’d go with “traveler + baker + daydream believer” πŸ™‚

I started off last fall baking like crazy and have slowed down (i.e., stopped) on that front with all of the life changes as of late. I’d love if I could make those three things the bulk of what I do!

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:12 am #

      Ahhh, the life πŸ™‚

  14. Gillian June 26, 2012 at 6:43 pm #

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:10 am #

      Oooh me too! hehehe

  16. Randy June 27, 2012 at 3:32 pm #

I’d love to release my inner ESP skills for connecting with planets, stars and the occasional universe to the public. People from all of the world would pay me to tell them what a particular star is thinking at any given moment.

Psychic To The Stars: Sirius, Polaris and Beyond

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:10 am #

That’s really specific… so what is Sirius thinking right now?

  17. Dani Blanchette June 27, 2012 at 11:39 pm #

My dream job? Travel the world photographing bands and being a zombie whenever possible (its something i’ve done before. More than once. Somehow i have a talent for this zombie thing).

What would my job title say?

    – Dani Blanchette –
    Photographer
    Rocker
    Zombie

    • Dani Blanchette June 27, 2012 at 11:39 pm #

ok, that was totally formatted to be all centered and cool looking in the comment box. stupid auto-format.

    • Brooke July 4, 2012 at 3:09 am #
