Day 264: Announcing the Winner of the Travel Photo Contest

You guys have no idea how hard it was for me to choose a winner to my Easy Canvas Prints photo contest. I didn’t have that many entries, but it was still agonizing because many of the photos called to me in different ways.

For one, the little Peruvian boy in his traditional garb, submitted by Jennifer, was almost like something you’d see on the cover of National Geographic or a Lonely Planet guidebook. It is a photo like this that deserves a little bit of showing off.

The cotton candy clouds, submitted by Lisa, were so pink, and the waves were so crisp! And, when she told me her photo would be sent to her mother as a gift, I was even more torn.

Another great was the sunset over the Grand Canyon, submitted by Amanda. I mean, those colors were incredible!

There were so many great entries to my travel photo contest! But, my eyes kept going back to one shot in particular. To me, it was so great, I actually had to check on this person’s website to see if they were a professional photographer… because I felt like choosing the photo if they were might just be unfair. Well, they weren’t listed as a pro photographer, which made me feel better about my decision – and when Pat backed me up on it last night as well, I gave it a big YES.

The winning photo was submitted by Gerard of!

Seeing Iguassu Falls made Eleanor Roosevelt say, "Poor Niagara".

This is a great shot, and I hope you’ll enjoy having it on your wall!

Everyone else, please don’t hate me for not picking your photo! It was very hard to make a decision, and I loved all the entries 😉

Great choice. Gee, if I’d known I would have submitted something.

This is awesome! The other pictures were great too. It’s an honor to be the winner… I’m definitely not a pro, but I’d like to think there are a few decent photos out of the thousands of shots I take. 🙂

But awesome choice for a winner! Beautiful shot!

Your picture was fun, though! It was a very tough decision. I saw merit in choosing any of the photos 🙂
